Easily seen from all points in the city, the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, better known as the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia (name of the hill on which it is located) is one of the most visited and famous tourist sites in Viana do Castelo.

If you choose to walk, you will have 659 steps to climb, and then you can enjoy the view of the city with the Lima River mouth and the Atlantic Ocean from the top of the hill.
